On August 17, 2021, Tropical Depression Fred caused heavy flooding in Western
North Carolina. Many people lost their homes, all of their possessions, and in
some cases, their lives. At least four people have been confirmed dead in our
neighboring Haywood county as of Saturday morning.

establish a more permanent "emergency shelter" for unhoused community members.
According to their press release, if Council approves the purchase at their

The City of Asheville has made a press release

stating that they will be returning to the virtual meeting format amid a rising
number of COVID-19 cases in our community.
There is one exception stated in the release:
